To all beekeepers, enthusiasts, bee researchers and extensionists, students, hobbyists:



We would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming 16th Annual Conference and Technofora at the University of Southern Philippines, Obrero Campus, Davao City on August 19-21, 2010.  This year’s theme is “Bees and Climate Change”.  Climate is a major factor that affects biodiversity and any change as such is a global concern.  The diminishing population of bees is a major threat to biodiversity. The phenomenon, “colony collapse disorder” may result to depletion of human food resources, if not properly addressed.  It is therefore imperative to understand the dynamics between bees and plants as influenced by changes in climate.  This will be the focus of discussion in this conference.

The Beekeepers Network Philippines Foundation Inc. (BEENET Philippines) is composed of beekeepers, bee researchers/extensionists and enthusiasts.  Its main mission is to coordinate research and extension efforts in bees and beekeeping and provide avenues for the exchange of information among stakeholders.
