Dear fellow beekeepers,

Since we are all experiencing the heat of the summer and the current weather situation about El Niņo. I'd like to ask if ok lang na diligan ung paligid ng hive sa gabi?

Need some opinion about this fellow beeks.  Smiley Smiley

I think it should be ok.

How about the evaporation of water? Will honey absorb the moisture outside the hive?

why do you wanna wet their surrounding? to keep cool? besides el nino na, wag ka na mag dilig, conserve water hehehe
in my opinion, id rather keep the surrounding dry.  the water on the ground might have protozoas or something that might give them diarrhea.
provide nearby clean water for them instead like in Tep's urbian apiary, he has a clay jar dripping water on a plate.
during the rainy days last year, the ground was always wet and my bees always had diarrhea.

El Nino has its pros and cons to our hive.
Pros
2. The bees are free to roam, walang casualty ng ulan.

Cons
2. Ang init, daig mo pa nag sauna bath pag nag inspect ng hive hehehe.
3. Kailangan maglagay ng clean water dripping from a jar para sure na may water supply ang bees.

Kadalasan hindi naman natin maiiwasan ang changes in nature, but we can do something to adjust to it. Sa case natin, tayo ang kailangan mag adjust sa nature, not the other way around

hi, me i put water in the feeder and put it inside the hive. so they won't have to go out to drink. pwede ba yun? so far no problem.
