Baguio Basic Beekeeping Jan2010

For those interested. SLU-EISSIF will be conducting a Basic Beekeeping Training. Here are the details for the January 2010 schedule
Venue : SLU-EISSIF Beekeeping Center
Address : Ciudad Grande, Baguio City
Dates : January 21 to 23, 2010 (Thursday to Saturday)
Time : 9AM to 4PM (or onwards if needed)
Training fee : P2000 inclusive of lunch and snacks for 3 days
(pay the fee when you attend the first day)
Certificates will also be given after completion of the training.
Training is a mixed classroom and field (hands-on). There are numerous colonies in the center so everybody will have a chance to handle their own colony during the training.
Baguio is now on the post honeyflow season, so some topics on how to manage colonies at post honeyflow may also be included

For those who needs to rent a transient room, there are several "suki" transient rooms
near the center, We can help you arrange for it.

Greetings, Sir!

I'm very new to beekeeping. My interest only started last Christmas (2009) when my family and I visited a zoo with a bee exhibit. I have yet to explore this forum for basic information in re: beekeeping. I'm very glad that there is a training happening soon. I've contacted some beekeepers in my locality but seminars or trainings will start only in july or august. The schedule in Baguio is the most convenient for me and I am very interested in attending. I have some questions but Forum rules require that I post 1 message before that. So, I guess this would be that. I will PM my questions subsequently.

I dont sell colonies (for now), we still need it for the expansion to Pangasinan and for rearing queens. If you are interested, I can refer you to beekeepers here in Baguio that are planning to sell their colonies. Kayo na lang mag-usap sa presyohan, at mas maganda sana kung personal mong makita ang condition ng colonies bago magkabayaran.
I can introduce you as well to the beecenter folks once you are here.

As to the direction, if you are coming from Plaza (town), just take the jeepney/taxi going to Bakakeng. The beecenter is beside/before the SLU school expansion in Bakakeng Ciudad Grande Phase2. Mismong kalsada na dinadaanan ng jeep ang harap ng beecenter. See you at the center
