8th National Beekeepers Convention Cum Symposium
Theme : Livelihood Opportunities and Environmental Conservation Through Beekeeping
When : Dec8 to 10, 2009 (Tuesday to Thursday)
Where : Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMSU)
         North La Union Campus
         Sapilang, Bacnotan La Union

Registration fee : P2000 to cover convention kits, meals, snacks, accomodation, etc
(pay the fee on the first day)

Road Advisory
The Rosario-Sison bridge that was damaged by typhoon Pepeng was already reopened a few weeks ago. Buses and private vehicles from Manila dont need to detour to Mangaldan Pangasinan to reach Bacnotan LaUnion.

Hello tiki,
Since you'd be coming from Manila and for sure kailangan nyo ng accomodation, it would be recommended to call or inform the DMMSU of your intention to join. Hindi kasi masigurado kung gaano kadami ang pupunta kaya pag kinulang ang accomodation internal sa DMMSU, magiging 1st come 1st served basis. Worst case kung nag appear na lang doon without prior notice, sa labas na lang maghahanap ng matutuluyan.
In case na magtanong ang DMMSU kung sino ang nag invite sa inyo, paki refer na lang na ang SLU-EISSIF or yung SEAGAI ang nag invite sa inyo. I will scan the letter and will post it here para sa lahat.

I personally called DMMSU this morning and was able to talk to Mam Susan. Confirmed na kasama na sa P2000 na fee yung accomodation, meals, kits. Wala namang ikakatakot na maubusan ng accomodation, nakahanda ang DMMSU, but it would still be prudent to call in advance.

Looking forward to see you folks at the convention.

I was there... sa last day nga lang. Ok ang convention, marami din akong natutunan although last day na lang ako nakahabol. Lahat ng bagay pinag usapan, pati mga future roadmap ng beekeeping.
Pinag usapan din ang mga problema (lahat ng problema), especially support.

Doon ko na meet si JohnDom, and other beeks as well, worth it ang punta ko.

This year not sure kung sa Visayas ang schedule, wala pang balita.
