Bee Venom therapy
09/01/09 at 14:03:56

Fellow Beeks,
I have one question regarding bee venom.
I have been using beevenom to cure my gout. I don't take oral drugs for more than a year already, I just us Honey Cider, Propolis liquid and beestings(once the gout is in full attack). It does work for me, not miraculously but at least it shortens the time for the gout to subside. The usual 1 week swelling was dropped to 2 days.
I have a friend who also has gout, but his afraid and Im afraid as well that he might be allergic to bee venom. Are there any other means to verify if a person is allergic to beevenom without him getting stung by the bee?

the only way for sure to find out na di siya allergic eh to go to am immunoligist for a test. maybe bring some bees along for the venom....kasi i dont know if the doctors here are complete with gadgets and stuff ....hahaha

also kung allergic siya sa pollen or honey, most likely allergic siya sa venom.

ako the only way i found out na may local allergy ako eh when i got stung. i put ice immediately to stop the sweeling and drank antihistamine. kasi ang laki ng swelling masyado. ice seems to do the trick for me.

i tried going to an immunologist kaya lang harang yon schedules ng doctor.

its very rare naman the statistics of people having the critical allergy for it eh. usually local allergies lang.

Thanks tiki,
We would be bringing antihistamine drugs and have the vehicle ready in case na talagang allergic siya, at kailangan ihabol sa hospital. Wala naman siyang known allergy, pero its ok to be ready just in case.

i think you can buy in  drugstore that injection for anti-anaphylactic ,( dont know its spelling much less pronounce it), it would be expensive but its good to have it handy for people with critical allergy. a fellow beebatchmate in the seminar i attended showed it to us, together with the kit is a plastic injection looking thing that you can practice with. i never bought one because of the statistics i saw on the internet, of people having a critical allergy to it. i have more chances getting hit by lightning.

Bro Erwin, this is what I do, it could vary from person to person
1. Take approx 5 tablespoon of honey cider vinegar, mixed with 2 tablespoon of propolis liquid. Para hindi ganun kasama ang lasa, add a little water.
2. Drink the concoction in the morning before drinking anything or eating anything. Drink lots of water after drinking the concoction, acidic kasi yung vinegar kaya madali masira ipin
3. Don't leave yet because afterwards the call of nature would demand that you go to the bathroom
4. Continue drinking water laced with propolis liquid. Half teaspoon of propolis liquid for a glass of water on a needed basis. This will help flush the uric crystals out of your system.
5. With the gout on full attack (meaning hirap makalakad, pumipitik pitik sa sakit, at namamaga), get 1 bee to sting the swollen area.
6. Hold the bee by the wings and position her stinger to the swollen area/joint. Pag natusok na, remove the bee but leave the stinger still stuck to the skin. This is to ensure na mainject lahat ng venom. Be ready, mabibigla ka minsan, it feels like a 1 inch red hot scorching needle being inserted into your fleash. Remove the stinger once it stops to twitch.
7. Be ready, you might encounter some fever, normal lang naman ito.
8. Repeat the procedure the next day, sa ibang area naman ang sting.

Kung mura lang naman, I think its worth having the kit ready for emergency use.

Thanks for the info tiki.

tiki,

Are you referring to the Epipen?  I didn't know this was available locally.  I believe you need a prescription to get one.  I could be wrong.

Hello jenbc,
So sorry to hear about your dad.
As to the beevenom therapy, yes it is effective, but it will vary from person to person. I have known a lot of people that were considered as breathing corpse due to severe joint pains or paralysis, but because of bee venom, they started to live a normal life. Their life was already in a "no choice" situation so they tried beevenom as their last option, and they are glad that they did. One of them even became one of the experts in bee artificial insemination after he got well (after a couple of years and thousands of sting later).
The treatment is not an overnight success, you need to be patient and the patient as well as the family members also needs to accept that beeveom is your only cheapest and healthiest option.
Can we know as to where your exact location? We want to help you in any way that we can, there might be a beekeeper near your place that can help you.
Try to browse through the ilogmaria webpage, they have some story about this as well

So far so good, hindi naman miraculously na nag ok, pero its improving..... It may take another year or two of therapy but it shows signs of improvement.

Malaki ang potential nitong beevenom, sad to say na wala nga lang support from the govt para ma harness ang full potential ng beevenom,
